Among the recent projects, she is co-IP of a PROMETEO for research groups of excellence (ref. PROMETEO/2020/059/OBRAINSITY), whose funding amounts to € 548.816 and a regional project with the Health Research Institute Hospital La Fe (IIS La Fe) as IP (AP2021-03 METOB). These activities have contributed to develop new products in the market of the functional ingredients for the nutraceutical/cosmetic sector such as METABOLAID®, NUTROXSUN® and PLX® (Monteloeder, SL). In 2019, she founded a technology-based company, “Ilice Effitech”, which is focused in R&D for cosmetics and functional ingredients. In addition, she has collaborated with different dissemination activities organised by UMH and other entities as the “Fundación Parque Científico UMH”.
Training activities: Multidisciplinary background in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Phytochemistry. Excellence academically high-performing: Extraordinary Prize-winner upon graduation in the degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics (UCAM, 2005/2006) and National Award-winner for Academic Excellence in Food Science and Technology (UMH, 2007/2008). PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology in 2014 with a distinction "cum laude". Scholarships obtained in open and competitive calls: three predoctoral fellowships (FPI, FPU and ACIF) and two postdocs (AEST/2016 and APOSTD/2017), obtained in public calls. During Summer 2007, she did an internship in the CEBAS granted by the CSIC (JAE). Others Grants by the FFIS (Foundation for Health Education and Research of the Region of Murcia) and a scholarship for PhD students in Research Centres outside the Valencian Community of the GVA (BEFPI).

Dr. Herranz has led 18 final degree works (TFG), 8 Master final thesis (TFM) and has mentored more than 4.000 hours as an Academic and Professional Tutor through Educational Cooperation Agreements. She currently is the director of 6 Doctoral Thesis and increasing teaching experience by joining to “PhD Program in Molecular and Cellular Biology” and “Master degree in Biotechnology and Bioingeneering”. Since 2020, she is responsible for the subject "In vitro skin models for testing and evaluation" in the ""European Master ERASMUS MUNDUS in Translational Cosmetic and Dermatological Sciences (EMOTION)". In addition, as part of her entrepreneurial spirit, she participates as a Coordinator professor of the “Programa de Trabajos de Fin de Grado Interdisciplinares” at UMH since 2018, for interdisciplinary final degree projects between students of different degrees. Recently, she has obtained a Grant for the requalification of university teaching staff for a period of one year in the research group in Cardiovascular Pathology that belongs to the Institute of Health and Biomedical Research of Alicante (HGUA-ISABIAL).
Additional information: She has the authorisations as project animal supervisor (category C, 2014). She has received 17 training courses with more than 20 hours each related with the discipline of this call. She is accredited by ANECA as “Ayudante Doctor” and “Contratado Doctor” since 2020.
