Manuel Fendler

Manuel Fendler received the Engineer degree in material science from Lille University Engineering School, Villeneuve d'Ascq, France, in 1996, and the Ph.D. degree in microelectronics from the same university in 1999, for his work on optoelectronic components based on InP waveguides for radio-over-fiber telecommunication systems. He worked in Corning at the Fontainebleau Research Center, Alfortville, France, from 1999 to 2002, leading packaging research activities for planar photonic devices used in optical telecommunication networks. He joined the Atomic and Alternative Energies Commission, Laboratory for Electronics and Information Techniques, Micro and Nanotechnologies Campus, Grenoble, France, to work on cooled infrared detector hybridization and packaging. He has authored or co-authored 18 publications in optoelectronics and has been awarded 7 patents in the packaging field.
