Bio
In my research, I combine a multidisciplinary background in Materials Science (PhD in metallurgy/electrochemistry) and Biomedical Engineering (B.Eng.+M.Eng.) to understand the interplay between materials and biological matter. Being fascinated about the level of insights accessible by high resolution analytical tools, I zoom in to the material‒biology interface to obtain mechanistic insights occurring at the micro- to nanoscale. My research particularly addresses how the complex environment of the human body induces modifications in materials and their surfaces that impair their stability, durability and function.
