个人简介
Since 1996, he has been involved in photonics research specializing in optical amplifiers and lasers. He has authored and coauthored over 470 scientific articles in journals. In terms of innovation, he has been awarded with 11 patents. He is also one of the founders of in LAZER Dynamics Sdn. Bhd., Selangor, a startup company that focuses on laser technologies. His research interests include optical fiber amplifiers and lasers, optical fiber communications, optical sensors, and nonlinear optics.,Dr. Mahdi’s awards and honors include the Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, the IEEE Lasers and Electro-Optics Society (LEOS) Graduate-Student Fellowship, the Australia–Malaysia Institute Research Fellowship, the Leading Scientists and Engineers of OIC Member States (COMSTECH), the COMSTECH Young Scientist, The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) Young Affiliate Fellow, and the National Academic Award (Young Academician Award).
