The use of structural biology allows us to explain physiological events at a molecular level and this insight offers the opportunity for the development of therapeutics for human disease. This perspective has driven me along my career path to date. I have pursued research focused on investigating protein function using structural, molecular biology and biophysical techniques to provide a mechanistic understanding in life, which allow us to develop therapeutics.
