Bio
I'm a highly accomplished and dedicated scientist with extensive expertise in cancer biology, molecular genetics, and molecular research. I've completed a Ph.D. at the Faculty of Military Medicine, Department of Clinical Chemistry and Biochemistry, at the Medical University of Lodz, Poland, where they focused on the significance and expression of matrix metalloproteinase polymorphisms in the development of open-angle glaucoma.
With a Master's degree from the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection, Department of Molecular Genetics at the University of Lodz, I've obtained a solid foundation in molecular genetics and gained valuable research experience in the field. Following their Ph.D., I've pursued postdoctoral research at the Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Signaling at the Centre of New Technologies, University of Warsaw, where they investigated the determinants of nuclear localization of Gli proteins.
Currently, I hold a postdoctoral position at the Laboratory of Bioorganic Chemistry at the Centre of New Technologies, University of Warsaw, focusing on understanding the cellular fate of exogenously delivered mRNA. Myresearch encompasses a wide range of techniques, including Western blotting, cloning, immunofluorescence, luciferase assays, in vitro transcription of RNA, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), quantitative PCR (qPCR), and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) RNA purification.
I've made significant contributions to various research projects and has been the main investigator in the NCN FUGA5 grant, where they investigated the determinants of nuclear localization of Gli proteins. They have also collaborated on projects related to small molecular PERK inhibitors as a novel approach to Alzheimer's disease treatment, and they gained international research experience during their fellowship at the Department of Cancer Biology, The Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute, Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, United States.
In recognition of their scientific achievements, I've received multiple awards, including scientific awards from the Rector of the Medical University of Lodz and the Fulbright Junior Advanced Research Award. They have also demonstrated strong leadership skills, serving as a scientific supervisor for graduate and Ph.D. students and playing a crucial role in the establishment and guidance of the Student Scientific Society of Molecular Medicine at the Department of Chemistry and Clinical Biochemistry.
With additional training in radiation/isotope handling and laboratory animal handling and usage, I possesses a well-rounded skill set. They are fluent in Polish and have a strong command of the English language, as evidenced by their TOEFL and FCE certifications. Additionally, I'm proficient in various computer programs and possesses advanced knowledge in statistics, data analysis, and databases.
Overall, my extensive research experience, strong academic background, leadership abilities, and dedication to scientific advancement make them a highly qualified and accomplished scientist in the field of cancer biology and molecular research.
