个人简介
Luis M. Rodríguez-Alcalá Research line focused in the study of bioactive lipids with a pharmacological approach (Identification/characterization of new sources, pharmacokinetics, stability studies and in vitro/in vivo activity assays) to elaborate novel commercial functional foods in collaboration with industry to improve human health impaired by metabolic disorders applying a neuroscience approach.
Since 2013, Senior Researcher and Team leader of lipid research at Centre of Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry in Portugal (ALCHEMY Project). Invited Professor "ad honorem" (2014) of the TOXIAQBI group (UCM) and Invited Associate Researcher (2016) of the CYNERIS (Universidad Bernardo O'Higgins, Chile). Currently supervising 4 pre-doctoral researchers founded in programs of the Portuguese government, 2 postdoc researchers and 2 lab assistants. Previously, I have participated in the supervision of 3 visiting postdoc researchers (from Spain and Argentina), 6 visiting predoctoral researchers (Ireland, Portugal and Spain), 7 Master degree thesis, 5 students of science degree project (Portugal, Spain, Mexico and Colombia), 5 CSIC JAE intro, 2 undergraduate students (Chile and Argentina) and 2 high school students (Portugal). Invited speaker in 13 (12 international) congresses/seminars. Participation in 32 research and 22 industrial projects; Principal investigator (PI) in 11 and 1 technology contract with a Portuguese chocolate company.
This research activity has resulted in 61 publications (79% as corresponding, first author and/or second author) in peer review journals with impact factor, co-author of 11 book chapters (invited/corresponding author in one), 1 European patents in collaboration with industry, presented 49 posters (42 international), 7 oral presentations (2 international) and invited speaker in 13 (11 international) congresses/seminars.
