Luca Ramini

Luca Ramini received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Ferrara, Ferrara, Italy, in 2010 and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Ferrara, Ferrara, Italy, in 2014. He has been Technical Leader of system-level cross-benchmarking efforts between optical interconnects and their electrical counterparts. He has been a Visiting Researcher with Columbia University in 2011, a Postdoc with the University of Ferrara, and a Contract Professor with the University of Verona from 2014 to 2016. He is a Co-Author of more than 20 publications including conference and journal papers, as well as two book chapters. The goal of these studies has been to investigate on-chip optical networks for manycore integrated systems. He also gave more than 10 international talks. From May 2016 to June 2019, he was a silicon photonics designer with STMicroelectronics, Agrate Brianza, Italy. His key activities included modeling, simulation and design of photonics devices and on chip electro-optical systems for low-power and high-speed transceivers in the domain of data centers applications. Since July 2019, he has been with the Systems Architecture Lab, Hewlett Packard Enterprise as a Research Scientist, and his main activities focus on the design of photonic systems and circuits.
