Bio
Professor Louise A. Hitchcock has a BA in Political Science from the University of Southern California, and an MA in ancient History and a PhD in Art History and Critical Theory - both from the University of California at Los Angeles. As part of her PhD studies and post-doctoral research, Professor Hitchcock has gained extensive archaeological experience in the east Mediterranean, including time as Parsons Fellow at the American School of Classical Studies in Athens, a senior Fulbright Fellow at the Cyprus American Archaeological Research Institute in Cyprus; and as an USAID Fellow, a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow (awarded three times), and the Visiting Annual Professor at the Albright Institute of Archaeological Research in Jerusalem; and a visiting research at the Institute of Advanced Study at Hebrew University, Jerusalem, as well as excavation work in Israel, Egypt, Syria, Crete, and California.
