Dr. Lon White is a senior neuroepidemiologist and Principal Investigator on grants from the NIH, DOD, and the Alzheimer’s Association (Zenith Fellows Award). The NIH grant funds a cooperative effort with the University of Washington, the University of Minnesota, and the National Institute on Aging, NIH. That project employs data from the Honolulu-Asia Aging Study (HAAS) and the Nun Study to better understand the pathogenesis of brain aging and dementia. Other research looks at risk factors associated with dementia-related brain lesions and the relationship of traumatic brain injury and Alzheimer's disease.
