Bio
Logan Sorenson (S’02–M’14) received the B.S. and the M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL, USA, in 2004 and 2007, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA, in 2013, and subsequently joined HRL Laboratories, LLC, Malibu, CA, USA.
He was with the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden, from 2003 to 2004. His research interests are in the areas of design, modeling, and simulation of resonant micro/nano electromechanical systems devices, energy dissipation, noise, and phononic crystals.
Dr. Sorenson was a recipient of a Camras and Grainger Scholarship at IIT, the IEC Everitt Award of Excellence in 2005, the IIT Graduate Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, and the prestigious Georgia Tech Institute Fellowship to pursue doctoral studies in electrical and computer engineering in 2007. He was also a recipient of the inaugural Outstanding Oral Paper Award at the 2013 IEEE Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems Conference in Taipei, Taiwan.
