个人简介
Elon Lindenstrauss is a professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem's Einstein Institute of Mathematics, and the first Israeli to receive the Fields Medal. Lindenstrauss earned his bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics in 1991, his master's degree in mathematics in 1995 and his doctorate in mathematics in 1999, all at the Hebrew University. He did postdoctoral work at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton and at Stanford University, and joined the Princeton faculty in 2004. He began teaching at Hebrew University's Einstein Institute in 2008. Lindenstrauss was awarded the 2010 Fields Medal for his results on measure rigidity in ergodic theory and their applications to number theory. His other awards include the Erdös Prize of the Israel Mathematical Union in 2009, the Haim Nessyahu Prize in Mathematics for his doctoral research in 2001, the Salem Prize for young mathematicians in 2003, the European Mathematical Society Prize in 2004, and the Fermat Prize for Mathematics from the Toulouse Mathematics Institute in 2009.
