Bio
Linda M. Davis (S'92—M'94—SM'04) received a B.E. (Hons.) degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Adelaide, Australia, in 1994 and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Melbourne, Australia, in 1999. In 2008, Davis joined the Institute for Telecommunications Research at the University of South Australia, where she is associate professor of wireless communications. She has a mix of industrial and academic research and development experience, including Bell Laboratories Research (Lucent Technologies), Agere Systems, Macquarie University, and the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO).
Davis's research has real-world impacts, with application of channel estimation, turbo decoding, and multiple-input and multiple-output implementations deployed in commercial mobile cellular systems. Her research interests include signal processing for communications and passive radar, channel modeling, multiantenna systems, polarization diversity, and software-defined radio. The outcomes of her research are algorithms, architectures, and implementations for advanced terrestrial wireless and satellite communication transceivers.
