长期从事植物抗旱耐逆等领域的研究,掌握了测定水孔蛋白活性、根系水导度等植物水分生理相关领域的关键实验技术,鉴定了参与重要植物生理功能的PIP2;1等水孔蛋白基因,阐明了其在植物水分吸收、生长发育中的功能和调控机制。其中,水孔蛋白参与调控的植物侧根的发育取得了重要突破,该研究并阐明了水孔蛋白调控侧根发育的分子机理,建立了精确预测侧根发育的数学模型。该项研究为法国、英国和德国三个实验室共同完成,研究成果以封面文章发表在《Nature Cell Biolology》。
