Bio
Associated Professor Lewis Perrin is a graduate from the University of Melbourne (1979). He completed his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1992. He enrolled in Gynaecological Oncology sub-speciality training in 1993, including one year of colorectal surgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He has been a Gynaecological Oncologist since 1996 and clinical director of Gynaecological Oncology at the Mater Hospital Brisbane since 2005. The unit has grown to be the busiest in Queensland over the last 10 years. Dr Perrin has an academic title of Associate Professor with the University of Queensland.
His main research interests include clinical trials, hereditary cancers and translational research. His primary focus is to establish an interdisciplinary network of world-renowned medical specialists and research scientists, by encouraging excellence at weekly tumour board and research meetings. This has resulted in translational and clinical research to promote change and improve the care of women with gynaecological cancer. Her has authored over 60 original articles in peer reviewed journals, teaches and presents nationally and internationally. He is an examiner with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in his sub-specialty of Gynaecological Oncology.
