Bio
Lay San (Tiffany) is a research fellow at the Centre for Mental Health, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health. Her research covers the epidemiology of suicide and mental health problems.
She also evaluates the effectiveness of trials for reducing suicides and increasing help-seeking behaviour/intention. Tiffany has been engaging closely with government agencies and community organisations to translate her research findings into policy and practice to prevent suicide and promote mental health. She was awarded her PhD at the University of Melbourne with a Head of School's Award for Excellence in Doctoral Research. She was ranked as the top early career researcher in mental health in 2017 and awarded the scholar award by Australia's Society for Mental Health Research. Tiffany was also awarded a highly competitive NHMRC Fellowship.
