个人简介
My research focuses on understanding the atmospheric and climatic impacts of volcanic eruptions. I use complex aerosol-chemistry-climate models and Earth System models to simulate eruptions both in the past, and those which could occur in the future. I am particularly interested in how different properties of an eruption such as the amount of sulfur dioxide emitted into the atmosphere, the eruption latitude or season of an eruption affect the climatic response, and how we can use ice core records of sulfate and tree-ring reconstructions to assess the impacts of historical eruptions.
