Laura Nyström joined ETH Zurich as Assistant Professor of Food Biochemistry at the Department of Health Science and Technology in 2009, and was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2016.
She was born in Toijala, Finland, in 1977.
She completed an MSc in food sciences at the University of Helsinki, Finland, in 2002 and continued as a doctoral student at the same university.
In 2008 she obtained a doctorate (DSc) in Food Sciences.
