My main interest is in membrane transport of water and solutes in plants related to stress physiology. By coupling to solute transport, water can be driven across membranes even against a water potential gradient. Cotransport of water and solutes is currently investigated for various plant membrane transporters. I am also interested in algorithms describing biological emergence, i.e. how complex multigenic traits are functionally linked to a set of proteins.
