His research interests include the application of structural equation methods to various substantive and methodological concerns.
Williams established CARMA, an interdisciplinary center devoted to advancing faculty and students’ knowledge of organizational and social science research methods and data analysis techniques, in 1997. The Southern Management Association recognized him as the author of the third-most highly-cited article in the 40-year history of the Journal of Management in 2016. His research has been published in the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Organizational Research Methods and Academy of Management Annals.
