I am a marine biologist and geneticist whose research focuses on biogeography of marine invertebrates, by combining more taxonomy and population genetics. Currently I am interested in understand connectivity and dispersal routes across important oceanic biogeographical barriers. Bathyal habitats, as seamounts and hydrothermal vents, reduce the functional distance to remote islands, but their role as stepping-stones, especially during low sea-level stands, is far from well understood.
