Bio
Lamartine N. F. Guimaráes received the Ph.D. degree in nuclear engineering from The University of Tennessee, in 1992. He is currently a Research Associate with the Institute of Advanced Studies, where he is also the Head of the Nuclear Energy Division. He is also a Professor in the postgraduate course of applied computation with the National Institute of Space Research in applied artificial intelligence. He is also a Professor in the postgraduate course in space sciences and technologies with the Technological Institute of Aeronautics in space and hypersonic propulsion, with nuclear propulsion as a line of research. He is also a Full Professor with the Faculty of Technology São Francisco, in control engineering and automation. He received the Santos Dumont Merit Medal, in 2009. From 1994 to 2008, he coordinated six research projects. Currently, he coordinates four scientific projects. He works in nuclear engineering, with emphasis on dynamic simulation of systems and processes.
