Bio
Léo Pomar is Associate Professor in the midwifery programme at HESAV (Lausanne, Switzerland). As midwife specialised in ultrasound and fetal medicine, with a MSc in Fetal Physiopathology and a PhD in Life Sciences, he is a clinical expert in fetal brain anomalies and congenital infections at Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV, Lausanne, Switzerland). His expertise in fetal neurology, epidemiology and perinatal infectious diseases allows him to teach and direct research activities in these fields. His publications on Zika virus infections (BMJ 2018, UOG 2017 & 2020, Nature 2021), SARS-CoV-2 (Lancet 2020, JAMA 2020, Viruses 2021), Toxoplasmosis (Prenat dianosis, 2020), Cytomegalovirus (Viruses, 2023) or other emerging pathogens during pregnancy are considered as references in the field. He also has editorial experience for the journal Viruses.
