Bio
L. Noels received the Degree in aerospace engineering and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Liège, Liège, Belgium, in 2000 and 2004, respectively.
He was a Post-Doctoral Associate with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA, from 2005 to 2006, with Prof. Radovitzky from the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He has been an Assistant Professor and then an Associate Professor with the University of Liège since 2008 and 2015, where he is leading the Computational and Multiscale Mechanics of Materials Unit, Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. His main research interests include multiscale and computational models of engineered materials, with a particular emphasis on the propagation of instabilities and uncertainties across the scales.
Dr. Noels was a recipient of the Fellowship of the Belgian National Fund for Scientific Research.
