My main research interest is on the formation and evolution of dwarf galaxies, in particular of the Magellanic Clouds which are the largest and most massive satellite galaxies of the Milky Way.
I am the principal investigator of the VISTA survey of the Magellanic Clouds system (VMC), a public survey project of ESO. I am also leading the One Thousand and One Magellanic Cloud Fields (1001MC) survey within the 4MOST consortium.
