Laurent Lombard received the M.S. degree from the Ecole Supérieure d’Optique, Orsay, France in 2001, and the Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Paris XI, Orsay, in 2005. Since 2006, he has been a Research Scientist at the Département Optique Théorique et Appliquée, Office National d’Etudes et de Recherches Aérospatiales (ONERA), the French Aerospace Lab, Palaiseau, France. His current research interests include high-power fiber laser sources, nonlinear effects in fibers, optical beam processing, lidars, and coherent combining.
