Kyle Mason-Jones

Soil microorganisms are central players in CO2 release, carbon storage, and recycling of plant nutrients. I research the ecological mechanisms of these processes and how they interact with agricultural practice. More specifically, I aim to understand how viruses shape bacterial communities and redirect carbon and other nutrients between plants, soil and atmosphere. I am also interested in microbial C, N and P storage and its biogeochemical significance.
