Kyla Driver received the B.S. degree in biomedical engineering and the M.S. degree in science, technology, and public policy from the Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY, USA, in 2019.
Throughout her undergraduate degree, she interned at the University of Vermont Medical Center, Burlington, VT, USA, as a Clinical Engineer, developing cyber security plans for protected health information systems; University of Rochester, Rochester, as a National Science Foundation Research Fellow, testing drug effectiveness for presbyopia reversal; and Philips Healthcare, Andover, MA, USA, as an Research and Development Engineer Intern, completing product evaluation on a novel technology for arterial plaque ablation. In 2019, she joined the U.S. Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine, Natick, MA, USA, as an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education Fellow and transitioned to the Department of Defense (DoD) civilian in 2020. Throughout her time at USARIEM, she has worked as a Biomedical Engineer and a Research Study Coordinator. Her research focuses on conducting data collection for algorithm development and providing solutions to the warfighters to help with risk mitigation of heat-related injuries in military training.
