Bio
Dr Kim Kuypers obtained her PhD in 2007 at Maastricht University. The main focus of her PhD dissertation was memory and risk taking during MDMA intoxication. After her PhD she did several postdocs (Maastricht University-The Netherlands/Ghent University-Belgium). In this period she started to build out her own research line which focuses on drugs of abuse, hormones and their effects on social cognition. At present she is appointed as Associate Professor at Maastricht University at the department of Neuropsychology & Psychopharmacology.
Dr. Kuypers has received several grants and prizes. In 2008, she received a grant from “the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research” to continue her research on MDMA-induced memory impairment. This work was conducted in collaboration with Dr. de la Torre Fornell, Spain. In 2011, she received again a grant from “the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research” to investigate the prosocial effects of MDMA.
