Mariana Kruger

Mariana Kruger, MD, PhD, is a paediatric oncologist and ethicist. She is currently a full professor of paediatrics and executive head of the department of Paediatrics and Child Health at Tygerberg Hospital, Stellenbosch University, as well as co-principal director of South African Research Ethics Training Initiative (SARETI) UKZN, funded by Fogarty International, NIH, USA since it’s inception in 2003 (currently in 3rd cycle). She has published 7 chapters, 51 peer reviewed publications and 41 peer reviewed conference abstracts. She published an African research ethics book, a peer reviewed book titled: “Research Ethics in Africa: A Resource for Research Ethics committees”, with Drs Lyn Horn and Paul Ndebele, a project funded by an EDCTP grant in July 2014 (Doi 10.13140/2.1.2560.8646).
