Bio
Koray Kayabol (S'03–M'09) was born in Turkey in 1977. He received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and electronics engineering from Istanbul University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 1997, 2002, and 2008, respectively.
He was a Research Assistant with the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, Istanbul University, from 2001 to 2008. From 2008 to 2010, he was an ICTP Post-Doctoral Fellow with the ISTI, CNR, Pisa, Italy. From 2010 to 2012, he was an ERCIM Post-Doctoral Fellow with the Ariana Research Group, INRIA, Sophia-Antipolis, France, and with the Probability and Stochastic Networks Group, CWI, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Since 2012, he has been a TUBITAK Returning Scholar Post-Doctoral Fellow with the Electronics and Communications Engineering Department, Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul. His current research interests include Bayesian parametric and nonparametric inference, statistical image models, image classification and segmentation, and blind source separation.
Dr. Kayabol has been an Associate Editor of Digital Signal Processing since 2011.
