Bio
Knud Erik Skauby received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in economics from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. He is a professor and the founding director of the Center for Communication, Media, and Information Technologies, Aalborg University, Copenhagen, Denmark—a center providing a focal point for multidisciplinary research and training in the applications of communication, media, and information technologies and part of the international research network Center for TeleInFrastruktur. His career as a university teacher and consultant began in 1972. His working areas include technoeconomic analyses and the development of mobile/wireless applications and services and the regulation of telecommunications. He has been a project manager and partner in international, European, and Danish research projects. He served on a number of public committees within telecom, information technology, and broadcasting; as a member of boards of professional societies; and as a member of organizing boards, evaluation committees, and as an invited speaker on international conferences. He has published a number of Danish and international articles, books, and conference proceedings. He is the chair of Working Group A/B in the Wireless World Research Forum, a special advisor to Global ICT Standardization Forum for India, and deputy chair of the IEEE Denmark Section.
