Karen is an accomplished international speaker, coach, trainer and writer in the areas of leadership, cognition and perception, and creativity and innovation.
An inspirational speaker and coach, Karen’s research and professional focus is on understanding and developing practical applications and solutions to ambiguous and complex problems including; unconscious bias and decision making, managing performance, creativity, leadership and individual performance at work, multisensory integration, and selective attention.
Karen's coaching work has a specialist focus on onboarding executives and managers into their new roles and further assisting them to transition to senior (Director level) leadership roles quickly and effectively.
Karen has senior executive experience in directing large sales and customer service functions both on and off shore (including JV partnerships across 8 cities in China).
An insatiably curious person who has a passion for lifelong learning, she completed her PhD in Visual Neuroscience at Sydney University. She specialized in the fascinating area of Synesthesia, a multisensory perceptual condition in which human senses are integrated in unusual ways which also provides insights into a persons capacity for creativity. Karen now lectures and researches part time in the School of Psychology at the University of NSW.
