个人简介
Dr. Kimberly Bertrand holds a Master of Public Health degree from the Boston University School of Public Health and earned her Doctor of Science degree in Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) in 2010. She is currently Associate Professor of Medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine and an Epidemiologist at the Slone Epidemiology Center at Boston University.
Dr. Bertrand’s research focuses primarily on the epidemiology of cancer, with an emphasis on understanding racial disparities in incidence and outcomes. She is a co-investigator on the Black Women’s Health Study (BWHS), a prospective cohort study of over 59,000 African American women begun in 1995. Dr. Bertrand is actively involved in several epidemiologic research projects to study risk factors for high mammographic density, a strong independent predictor of breast cancer, and the role mammographic density and other risk factors may play in tumor aggressiveness. In addition, she leads research on identifying factors that explain racial disparities in multiple myeloma.
