In 2003, he gained admission to Perak Matriculation College (KMPk). He pursued his studies in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and graduated with a BSc. (Hons.) in Applied Chemistry at the end of 2007. After a year as a research assistant in University of Malaya, he was offered the University Malaya Fellowship (UM), Postgraduate Study Scheme (KPT), Postgraduate Dana (MOSTI) and National Science Fellowship (NSF). He chose National Science Fellowship to read the master’s degree in Universiti Malaya.
Upon study, he was appointed as Residental Assistance for PERMATAPintar Program in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia to instruct and responsible on the prodigy children. He flew away to Thailand and Singapore to give the speech on his research. His diligence was rewarded with a degree in Master of Science in Physical/ Environmental Sciences in 2011.
Before graduation, he was offered to join Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI). There onwards, his interest of research in science and business grew. This was further encouraged by the recognition and support from MARDI, where he was appointed as Technical Officer for MARDI Kuala Linggi Incubator Program. This project leads him to train SMEs for essential oil production. In MARDI Headquarters Serdang, he is responsible to lead Essential Oil Analysis Unit under Food and Agricultural Analysis Laboratory Program, Technical Service Centre. He was also the gatekeeper for Malaysian Herbal Authentication Centre (MHAC).
Khalisanni has exposed over 6 years in diverse research areas especially research ethics, essential oil, polymer, biofuel, fermentation, analytical and environmental chemistry. He has been honoured and recognised both nationally and internationally for his research creativity and innovativeness. In 2012, he was approached by local company namely Qzen (M) Sdn. Bhd to lead the research in the area of flavour and fragrance and consulted Perak Agricultural Development Corporation for the distillation process of essential oil. He’s also contributed to Lab Science Solution Sdn. Bhd. (sole distributer for Bruker in Malaysia) as a lead consultant for development of dedicated capillary column for essential oil analysis.
He continues to devote his time and energy to learning, discovering and enhancing the knowledge and technology in research and received many recognition for his excellence. He is co-opted as a life member of Malaysian Oil Scientist and Technologist Association (MOSTA), Malaysian Nuclear Society (MNS), a member of Malaysian Institute of Chemistry (IKM), Incorporated Society of Planters (ISP) and Malaysian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (MSBMB). Receiving an attention from the academics, he was invited as Adjunct Professor in Lecture Series on Research Methodology and judges in Management & Science University (MSU), Malaysia in 2012 and the subsequent year. He is also appointed as supervisor and advisor for postgraduates and undergraduates research projects from the universities (UM, UiTM, University of Nottingham).
He chaired an international conference of Mathematical, Physical, Science Graduate Congress 2010 (MPSGC), Thailand and as secretariat of International Postharvest Symposium 2012 (IPS). He is selected as Advisory/ Editorial Board for international journals (Novus Scientia Journals, Chemistry Journal) and reviews many research articles (Arabian Journal of Chemistry, International Food Research Journal, etc). He had won numerous awards in the MARDI Science and Technology Exhibition (MSTE), International Engineering Invention & Innovation Exhibition (i-ENVEX) and Invention, Innovation and Design (IID). He’s actively publishing scientific articles in books, book chapters, proceedings of which most of the papers are published in refereed journals.
In 2014, Khalisanni is a subject of biographical record in Who’s Who in the World, 31st Edition, for demonstrating outstanding achievement in chemistry with significant contribution to the betterment of contemporary society.
