Kevin P. Chen

Kevin P. Chen received the B.S. degree in control science and engineering and in physics from Xiamen University, Xiamen, China, in 1994, the M.S. degree in physics from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada, in 1998, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada, in 2002. After his Ph.D. training, he joined the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, USA, where he is a Paul E. Lego Chair Professor of Engineering. He is the co-inventor 652 of 15 U.S. patents and coauthor of more than 250 technical articles. His primary research interests include ultrafast laser processing and optics science, fiber optic sensors, additive manufacturing, and integrated optics.
