Career Trajectory
Bio
Kentaro Yamamoto was born in Osaka, Japan. He earned his B.Sc. from Kwansei Gakuin University in 2009, and received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Tokyo in 2015 under the supervision of Prof. Kazuo Takatsuka.
After he did a postdoctoral fellow at the Fukui Institute for Fundamental Chemistry studying nonadiabatic electron dynamics relevant to photocatalytic water-splitting reactions, he joined Quantinuum K.K. as Research Scientist. His current interests include quantum computational chemistry, which can potentially provide fundamentally different approaches to molecular simulation problems such as chemical reaction dynamics to outperform the conventional supercomputers.
