Bio
Kenneth Fong is Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences. He completed his studies in occupational therapy before joining the public hospitals in Hong Kong as an occupational therapist for a couple of years. He is currently the coordinator of assistive technology laboratory in Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, management committee member of the Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Things (RIAIoT) in PolyU, chairman of the University Ethics Committee, and Editor-in-Chief, Hong Kong Journal of Occupational Therapy. He has been the programme leader of the undergraduate and postgraduate occupational therapy programmes in PolyU. He received the Department Outstanding Teaching Award in 2011, the Faculty Team Teaching Award of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences in 2010, and the Department Outstanding Team Teaching Award in 2019 and the Faculty Outstanding Team Teaching Award in 2019. He has been awarded competitive public research grants from the government, among them, the Research Impact Fund (RIF), the General Research Fund (GRF), the Health and Medical Research Fund (HMRF), and the Innovation and Technology Fund - Midstream Research Programme for Universities (ITF-MRP), and Beat Drugs Fund, etc. in order to develop innovative rehabilitation programmes and translational research for clients with neurological conditions, and assistive technology for the older population.
