Bio
Professor Ooi’s research excellence and impact have been recognized with different honours by various researchers in international journals of repute. Professor Ooi was ranked as the World’s Top 2% Scientists (in the field of Business and Management and under the subfields of Information Systems) by the 2019 Stanford University List. He was also acknowledged as one of the Top World Authors and High Impact Researchers (ranked # 6) in the topic ‘Technology Acceptance Model; Mobile Payment; UTAUT’ (2015-2020) by Elsevier’s Scopus and SciVal (Singapore). In social commerce research, he was ranked 1st among the Top 10 Core Authors in the World from 2003 to 2018 in Clarivate Analytics (Web of Science). Apart from mobile social commerce, Professor Ooi has also been recognized internationally for his work in ‘mobile commerce and its applications’. He was acknowledged as the World’s Most Productive Author and the World’s Second Most Influential Author from 2000 to 2015 in Thomson ISI-Web of Science, as well as Malaysia’s Top Contributing Author. He was also acknowledged as one of the Most Published Authors and who has imparted significant knowledge and information sharing in the field of mobile commerce applications between 2008 and 2017 using the Scopus database. Professor Ooi has received several outstanding recognitions; one as the World’s Top 5 Most Productive and Influential authors (ranked #4) in the journal ‘Industrial Management & Data Systems’ (IMDS) over the past 25 years (1994-2019) in Web of Science and the other as the World’s Top 50 Most Productive and Influential authors (ranked #42) in the research discipline of ‘Knowledge Management’ from 1961-2015. He was also ranked as the World’s Top Prolific and Most Influential, as well as the Top 2nd Highly Cited author in ‘Total Quality Management’ research in Web of Science from 2006-2015. He was acknowledged as the Top 12 leading authors in the world under the discipline of ‘innovation’ research, between 2009 and 2013.
