个人简介
Kathryn Unsworth is based in Melbourne and works at the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) leading the Skills & Workforce Development team. Her previous role at ARDC was as a Skills Consultant concentrating on national coordination and cohesive skills communities.
Prior to joining the ARDC, Kathryn was a Data Librarian with CSIRO. In this role, Kathryn engaged with researchers, engineers, modelers, instrument managers, and other CSIRO staff, providing library and research data support. A focus of this role was on researcher workflows and how, when and where data support services and tools aligned and could be deployed in a timely and efficient way.
Kathryn was previously at the Australian National Data Service (ANDS). At ANDS, Kathryn engaged with several Australian universities, providing research data management related advice, support and training. Additionally, Kathryn worked in partnership with institutions to deliver ANDS co-invested projects. She has many years’ experience and interest in RDM-related topics including DMP implementations, FAIR data, persistent identifiers and their application, IP and licensing for data, ethics and informed consent, and capability and skills uplift for research support professionals.
Now undertaking a role fully focused on the Australian digital research skills agenda, there are many new and exciting challenges and opportunities to tackle. A stand out is the opportunity to facilitate and lead cross-organisational projects where community is paramount and outcomes have national scale impacts.
