个人简介
Kathleen McInnes leads the sea level rise and coasts team at CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research. Her expertise lies in analysis of climate model simulations and modelling of coastal sea levels under current and future climate conditions and assessing the impacts of changes in the coastal zone.
She was a contributing author on the IPCC second, third and fourth assessment reports and a lead author on the IPCC Special Report on Extremes. She is currently a lead author on the IPCC Working Group 2 fifth assessment report chapter on Coastal Systems and Low-Lying Areas.
Kathleen McInnes is a senior principal researcher and leader of the Climate Extremes and Projections Group in the Climate Science Centre in CSIRO’s Oceans and Atmosphere division. Her expertise is on coastal and climate change hazards such as storm surges and sea level rise and their impacts in the coastal zone. She has undertaken coastal hydrodynamic modelling in Australia and the South Pacific and developed climate projections for impact and adaptation assessments to assist all levels of Australian government manage and adapt to climate change. She led the effort to develop national marine projections for Australia, released in 2015. She was a contributing author on the IPCC second, third and fourth assessment reports, a lead author on the IPCC Special Report on Managing the Risks of Extreme Events and Disasters to Advance Climate Change Adaptation and the IPCC Working Group 2 Fifth assessment report on Coastal Systems and Low-Lying Areas. Currently she is a lead author on the IPCC Special Report on Oceans and Cryosphere. She is also part of a CSIRO team developing a wave energy atlas as well as guidelines for evaluating the impact of wave energy converters in Australia.
