个人简介
Dr. Kata Trifkovic has over ten years of experience in leading and collaborating on innovative food/pharma projects, mainly focusing on development of functional food ingredients and functional foods utilizing encapsulation technologies, functional and edible food packaging to prevent food loss, as well as on development of biopolymer carriers for tailored release of bioactives/drugs and targeted nutrition. In addition, Kata has been involved in development of innovative methodology for food products authentication and food adulteration detection. Her experience is spanning over different research-intensive environments, including universities (University of Belgrade, Agricultural University of Athens, Polytechnic University of Valencia), innovation centres (Innovation Centre of Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy), research institutes (Teagasc Food Research Centre) and in collaboration with and supported by commercial entities (Glanbia) and government agencies (Enterprise Ireland), as well as different countries, including Serbia, Ireland, Greece, Spain and Croatia. She has been successful in winning EU funded grants, such as two Marie Skłodowska Curie Fellowships. She has published over 25 peer-reviewed articles in internationally recognized journals, 7 book chapters, 1 monograph, and participated in more than 35 conferences. Her work in area of encapsulation technologies has been internationally recognised, and she was invited to give a two-week course on a “Trends in Encapsulation Technologies for Delivery of Food Bioactive Compounds” at Agricultural University of Athens, Faculty of Food Science and Human Nutrition. She is an active member of EIT Food WE Lead Food and European Nutrition Leadership Platform (ENLP) Networks. At Inlecom Commercial Pathways, she is acting as Innovation and Commercialisation Principal Investigator and Lead on Exploitation and Commercialisation of outputs of food related EU funded projects.
