个人简介
My research interest covers a multidisciplinary area of analytical and environmental chemistry, primarily focused on development of analytical techniques for identification and monitoring of environmental pollutants, at source pollution control, fabrication and characterization of materials for remediation of air, soil, and water pollution. My previously completed research projects are based on development of spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques for quantification of environmental pollutants, solid phase and liquid phase extraction of pollutants from environmental samples using various organic solvent systems and nanomaterials, photocatalytic degradation of organic toxic substances such as pesticides, dyes and drugs, and removal of pollutants from wastewater through adsorption using environmentally friendly adsorbents i.e. ionic liquid functionalized with graphene based materials. I am currently fascinated by working on the prevalence of new pollutants such as medicines, personal care products, microplastics and persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in diverse environmental compartments, as well as pollution prevention, control, and remediation tactics, with an emphasis on developing sustainable and efficient water and air treatment technology.
My on-going project is based on the development of Ionic Liquid-Functionalized Graphene based materials as an efficient platform for dispersive solid phase micro-extraction of pesticides from agricultural soil and water samples. I perceive that this study will provide a new and sustainable approach for the detection and removal of pesticides in different agricultural matrices. In my research group, students belonging to diversified background finds the opportunity to work on aforesaid amazing projects and their scientific findings generate innovative solution that contribute towards environmental sustainability.
