个人简介
Karina Nigoghossian has a primary degree in Pharmacy-Biochemistry (2011) from São Paulo State University in Brazil, where she has received her Master (2014) and PhD (2018) in Chemistry. She received a double PhD degree in an agreement with Université Laval in Canada working under the supervision of Prof. Sidney J. L. Ribeiro and Prof. Denis Boudreau. During her PhD she focused on the preparation of multifunctional platforms based on lanthanide-doped ceramic nanoparticles for near-infrared (NIR)-to-visible upconversion for applications in nanomedicine. She then joined the group of Prof. Kohei Soga at Tokyo University of Science as a postdoctoral researcher (Japan, 2018-2020) to develop lanthanide complexes exhibiting upconversion luminescence, and lanthanide-doped nanoparticles for dual NIR/MR bioimaging. She subsequently joined the laboratory of Prof. Joulia Larionova (2021-2021) as a postdoctoral researcher of the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) to design nano-objects combining iron oxide-based hyperthermia and lanthanide-based thermometry. She has recently joined UCD School of Chemistry as a postdoctoral researcher of Prof. Dermot Brougham's group to develop magnetically responsive nanocomposites by combining magnetic nanoparticles with hydrogels, and evaluating their potential for tissue engineering applications.
