Education Qualifications: MBBS, FRCP (Edinburgh), FAMS (Neurology)
Dr Nagaendran Kandiah is a Senior Consultant neurologist and the Director of the NNI Dementia Programme. He holds a Clinician Scientist position with the National Medical Research Council of Singapore. His research interest includes Mild Cognitive Impairment, Role of Cerebrovascular disease in Alzheimer’s dementia, Parkinson’s disease dementia and Frontotemporal Dementia. He holds several national grants investigating these research areas and has published extensively in this field. He is also actively involved in the training aspects of dementia and is currently the chairman of the Neurocognitive and Research Training Consortium of Southeast Asia (NRTC-SEA). From a clinical perspective he has vast experience in the diagnosis and management of Alzheimer’s disease, Vascular dementia, Frontotemporal Dementia, Autoimmune Dementia and other related dementias. He leads the Singapore Ministry of Health initiative on Comprehensive Young Onset Dementia Programme. He is also the chairman of the Ministry of Health Clinical Practice Guidelines on Dementia.
