Bio
Karyn Malinowski received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in animal science and the Ph.D. degree in zoology from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ, USA, in 1978, 1980, and 1986, respectively.
Since 1978, she has been working as a Faculty Member with the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, Rutgers University, in various roles, including as an Extension Specialist in Equine Sciences, an Animal Sciences Professor, the Founding Director of the Equine Science Center, and the Director of the Rutgers Cooperative Extension. She is currently a Professor of Animal Science and the Founding Director of the Rutgers Equine Science Center, New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES). She has played a lead role in building the equine science program at Rutgers University and in the formation of the Rutgers Equine Science Center. Her research interests include improving the well-being and quality of life of the equine athlete while ensuring the vitality and viability of the equine industry, both statewide and nationally.
