Bio
I am a plant scientist with a diverse research background that spans genomics, bioinformatics, breeding, and ecology of plants. After completing my master's degree in China, I pursued a PhD in genomic approaches towards the identification of components involved in peptide-based cell growth of Arabidopsis thaliana in Copenhagen, where I contributed to the identification of other components in PSY1 peptide-based cell elongation.
As a postdoc at Aarhus University, I focused on herbicide resistance and applied RNAseq to identify and characterize herbicide-responsive genes, gaining extensive experience in project management and securing funding from various sources. Currently, I work as a bioinformatician and genome analyst for a breeding company Nordic Seed A/S in Denmark, where I am responsible for identifying genomic regions of agronomic importance using state-of-the-art methodologies in computational biology.
I am passionate about scientific projects that improve the lives of people and the sustainability of society through the creation of new agricultural solutions for commercial applications. My main research area is resistance mechanisms in plants against various biotic and abiotic stresses. My research assets include skills in bioinformatics, metabolite profiling, genotypic and phenotypic analysis, enzyme activity assays, biochemical techniques, and scientific writing. I am a team player with a solution-oriented mindset, curious, innovative, and focused on delivering value to co-workers, employers, and clients.
Through my research in academia and industry, I have developed fresh concepts and ideas, advanced professionally, improved my ability to do independent research, and acquired the skills necessary to contribute effectively to teams. My work has been instrumental in integrating scientific research to support the strategic emphasis areas with the aim of attracting more funding from national and international funding organizations. With a desire to continue making significant contributions to the field of breeding, genetics, and plant biotechnology, I am committed to advancing knowledge and developing innovative solutions to address critical challenges facing agriculture and society.
