Bio
Katja Fricke received the Diploma degree in environmental science from the Ernst Moritz Arndt University of Greifswald, Greifswald, Germany, in 2007. During her diploma thesis, she investigated the immobilization of biocatalysts for microbial bioelectrochemical systems and studied the anodic bioelectrocatalytic electron transfer in microbial fuel cells. in her Ph.D. thesis, she elucidates the impact of nonthermal plasma on bio-relevant materials, particularly the influence of plasma on the physicochemical and morphological surface properties.
Since 2008, she has been a Researcher with the Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology (INP Greifswald e.V.), Greifswald. Her other research interests include plasma-based processes for biological decontamination and sterilization.
