Bio
Julie Ratcliffe is Professor of Health Economics in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Flinders University, South Australia. She also holds Honorary Professorial positions in the School of Health and Related Research at the University of Sheffield and the Institute of Health and Well-being at the University of Glasgow and an adjunct appointment with the Institute for Choice at the University of South Australia . From 2010 to 2016 she was Professor of Health Economics in the School of Medicine at Flinders University. During the course of her career, Julie has published over 200 papers in peer reviewed journals and she has been a chief investigator on 40 plus research grants including two recent grants awarded by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and Australian Research Council (ARC) as the lead chief investigator. Her research interests include the measurement and valuation of health and quality of life outcomes for children and older people, the development and application of discrete choice experiments (DCE) for the quantification of consumer and general population preferences for health and social care and the economic evaluation of interventions across the health and social care sectors.
