Career Trajectory
Bio
I have obtained my PhD in Biology from the University of Heidelberg (Germany), where I worked on different aspects of gene therapy, from parvovirus capsid engineering to in vivo applications of AAV-CRISPR/Cas9. In my postdoctoral training at the Department of Infectious Diseases of the University Hospital Heidelberg, I worked on screening of AAV libraries in vivo in a collaboration with industry partners. Then, I joined Roche Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED) at Roche Diagnostics in Penzberg, Germany for a second postdoctoral stint. My research work focused on the development of processes for production of recombinant viral vectors based on recombinant AAV. Now I'm working at a staff scientist in the department for bioanalytics. Our work focuses on the developement of reliable assays for measuring in vivo performance of viral vectors.
